If you have been in mangalore for some time you will definately know about the Mangalore City Corporation landfill in Vamanjoor. This landfill had caught a fire on 3 January 2009 and is still burning till date.
The staff and students of St Josephs Engineering College, Vamanjoor participated in a peaceful protest rally whose demands were:
1. Extinguish the fire immediately 2. Shift the dumping location
